Hi, Yes if the DB is external then you need to provide the directory to the client (compatible version) that you are using connect to the DB.
E.g. C:\oracle10G\product\10.0.2\client ... The AIE Plugin will then use the client to connect to the DB. The AIE User Guide has a screenshot of using the client to connect.
