Thanks for your response Doug..

That definitely gives two good reasons to upgrade! But my customer is not
ready for it as yet at the moment for a few reasons. They were on 6.3 to
begin with on a fully home grown application, from which they are moving
away, and had already started going the 7.6.04 way I think before 8.0 was
released. At least that's my understanding having come aboard mid-way
through their journey up to 7.6.04 and ITSM.

What would be the impact of doing what LJ suggested to an upgrade later?

Will my customization get overwritten?

Will I loose only the changes to the Deployable application?

Or will I loose the form(s) I add to it as well? I'm guessing I will loose
the customization to the Application but my form will remain safe?

What about roles that I apply to the form by way of form permissions after I
force it into the Application from the Base Development mode? Will the form
be stripped off its roles?

Out of curiosity, were the Deployable applications deliberately left out of
being included with the Overlay feature? I have noticed that 'Local'
applications can be overlaid but 'Deployable' cannot so I am guessing that
there must have been a reason why it wasn't included.

Joe,

Deployable Applications were not overlayable in 7.6.04. They were added to
the things you could overlay

in the 8.0 release so they are overlayable in 8.0 and later.

And, with 8.1 you get granular overlays and so a lot finer control of
things. So, TWO reasons to upgrade the

platform!

**

Is this not allowed? Or is this by design so one cannot modify a BMC
Software OTB application?

The 'Create Overlay' option is grayed out only for 'Deployable' applications
while its available for 'Local' applications.

I was intending to add a form to Remedy Foundation Company and other
Foundation Forms for who I have created data staging forms.

I am on 7.6.04 SP5 server and developer studio.
