That's exactly the route I was thinking of adopting in fact given the limitation in 7.6.04 although ideally since these forms are a part of the Foundation data by way of customization, I would have loved to bundle them within the Foundation applications.

Joe, You could create your own application for your new forms which wouldn't be overwritten by upgrades. You would then copy the roles in the Roles form for the out-of-the-box application that you are trying to add forms to. Keep the same Role ID for each of the roles but change the Application Name to your new application. Then, add these new roles and your new forms to the new application. If you copy an otb field to one of these forms it will retain its role permissions. Alternatively, if these are staging forms that users never see then don't add them to any application. The BMC fields you add to these forms will have permissions stripped. You could add public permission to these fields or, if the integration uses a user with admin permission, leave the fields permission-less. That definitely gives two good reasons to upgrade! But my customer is not ready for it as yet at the moment for a few reasons. They were on 6.3 to begin with on a fully home grown application, from which they are moving away, and had already started going the 7.6.04 way I think before 8.0 was released. At least that's my understanding having come aboard mid-way through their journey up to 7.6.04 and ITSM. What would be the impact of doing what LJ suggested to an upgrade later? Will my customization get overwritten? Will I loose only the changes to the Deployable application? Or will I loose the form(s) I add to it as well? I'm guessing I will loose the customization to the Application but my form will remain safe? What about roles that I apply to the form by way of form permissions after I force it into the Application from the Base Development mode? Will the form be stripped off its roles? Out of curiosity, were the Deployable applications deliberately left out of being included with the Overlay feature? I have noticed that 'Local' applications can be overlaid but 'Deployable' cannot so I am guessing that there must have been a reason why it wasn't included. Joe, Deployable Applications were not overlayable in 7.6.04. They were added to the things you could overlay in the 8.0 release so they are overlayable in 8.0 and later. And, with 8.1 you get granular overlays and so a lot finer control of things. So, TWO reasons to upgrade the platform! Or is this by design so one cannot modify a BMC Software OTB application? The 'Create Overlay' option is grayed out only for 'Deployable' applications while its available for 'Local' applications. I was intending to add a form to Remedy Foundation Company and other Foundation Forms for who I have created data staging forms. I am on 7.6.04 SP5 server and developer studio.
