Meta-Update uses the API to do the extracts to the file system. To insert into the database you can issue a process call or direct SQL statement (through the ARADMIN user) within the Meta-Update script (one line). You can then delete the extracted file (one line). All in all it would be a 10 line script counting comments J ARS has additional attributes related to attachments such as original file name. These can be manipulated with Meta-Update in an automated was (such as getting rid of path info or changing file names). Attachments can also be transferred to other fields and forms through a reference not involving an extract to the file system. Meta-Update will not require any server changes at all and can be run on the server or on a workstation. Installation is a simple unzip. Available for Intel (Windows, Linux) and Sparc (Sun). Trials are free and only restricted by date (generally 30 days).
