If I use the URL in a browser I get the pom and the jars.
We are behind a company proxy.

If I setup an nexus repository server and connect the artifactory to the
nexus all artifacts are found and loaded.

But that is my problem now - how to say my boss artifactory is better with
the must of an preconnected nexus server?!

I think artifactory has a problem with the proxy - you spoke about a smaller
package size - maybe the proxy use some TCP/IP compression or something
else. It must be a little tricky thing which webbrowsers and nexus can
handle but artifactory currently not.
