I downloaded artifactory. Then I imported the remote repositories of the http://repo.jfrog.org/artifactory site via Admin-> Repositories. I went to Services-> indexer and indexed all repos. After a few hours I could see finshed indexing in the log. After that under Artifacts, some of the repos had arrows on the left. By clicking on the arrows the repositories expanded and in all of them was an .index directory together with the indexed files like nexus-maven-repository-index.gz However, some repositories didn't have those arrows and files.
I didn't manage to browse the files in the repos, by using the simple Browser, even though the repos I tried to browse had "List remote Folder Items" selected. I generated a settings.xml file via Maven Settings and made sure, that repo was in the generated settings file. I copied the settings file to the .m2 folder. I opened eclipse and went to the maven-repositories view. There i could see the repo-repository under global repositories. However, I could see nothing in it. Even a rebuilt of the Index (in Eclipse) did't cause any artifacts to appear under the repo repository. 1.) How exactly can I browse the artifacts via artifactory? 2.) Why did't some repositories have some *.gz index-file? 3.) How can I make the contents of the repositories visible in Eclipse(Indigo).
