Hi Mirko,

You can use the Item Properties API [1] for getting properties as json.
The XML metadata is the legacy representation of the how metadata is stored
in Artifactory. Properties are the primary type of metadata we promote
(rather than arbitrary xml docs) and therefore we offer specific methods
for them.
