It used to be the case for us that any stored file that Artifactory considered 
to have a size of “-1” would cause a backup error similar to what you described.

Hi Syed,

It is hard to analyze this without the detailed information from the server log 
(artifactory.log).
However,this error usually accord due to write permissions which denied, disc 
space ( even inconsistency issue in case you are running Artifactory 2.x).

So the backup error notification email you received form Artifactory should 
include the cause of the issue. you can attach it here so I will exam it 
further.
