*Job Title: Cognos Architect/Developer Location: Jersey City Duration:6 months*
Business Unit Overview: The Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Group within Chartis Claims organization is responsible for managing the data warehouse platform to deliver the business intelligence capabilities to our users. Team is working on ambitious multi-year efforts to develop the next generation data warehouse and BI platform using IBMs IIW data model. Responsibilities -Develop Cognos Reports using Reports Studio / Analysis Studio -Develop Cognos Framework for ad hoc report development -Write and Tune complex SQL in DB2 environment -Manage the change management process for the project -Work with DBA, infrastructure and QC groups when support is required by the development team. -Work with Data Analyst on data model issues. Understanding of complex data models is important. -Identify, track, and resolve issues as they arise Qualifications: -7 to 10 years of experience as a data warehouse developer -7 to 10 years of database development and tuning experience -3+ years of Unix scripting experience -5+ years with data modeling -Ability to lead discussions and see them through completion critical. -Strong interpersonal skills -Has Experience in coming up with architecture and design of the Cognos reporting solutions on top of the global claims data warehouse and reporting data marts. -Has skills to develop Cogsno Reports. -Can convert business requirements into design specifications for the reports as well as data mart. -Can manage the entire life cycle of the application development and work effectively with IT counterparts as well as off shore resources.
