*Server-Side Java Engineer*

NYC

We are looking for a mid-level *Server-Side Java Engineer* consultant to
support a new initiative. This is a pure development role role centering on
their Java-based enterprise APIs.

*Day in the Life:*

   - Work on the development of the enterprise platform and the RESTful API
   - Collaborate on design/architecture of new features/enhancements, and
   general improvements.
   - Generate technical documentation as needed.
   - Work with front-end (UI) and mobile developers to integrate
   server-side APIs.

*What You Bring to the Team:*

   - 4+ yrs coding server-side Java applications
   - Experience writing RESTful API endpoints that accept and return JSON
   - Expertise in Java libraries/frameworks, i.e. Spring, JDBC, JMS, etc.
   - Strong understanding OOP,
   - Knowledge of RDB concepts i.e. SQL, indexes and constraints,
   transactions, object-relational mapping
   - JUnit and Eclipse

*Big Plus:*

   - Good knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns
   - Familiarity with Redis, Node, MongoDB, and Backbone.js
   - Specific experience with MySQL
   - Familiarity with Tomcat, Ant or Maven-based build processes
   - Familiarity with *nix, including grep, tail, ssh, scp, netstat, etc.
   - Preference will be given to vi jockeys and ssh tunnelers.

*Other Attributes:*


   - High energy, Self-starter, ability to work collabortively under
   pressure.
   - Good verbal and written communication skills.
