Wasn't this deal negotiated from '01 through its signing October '02?
 In which case feel free to take current council to task for both the
deal and for rolling over and playing dead.  

Is not criticism required of those who chose to blindly trust the
felonious city manager Weldon, praise him to this day and still fail
to consult independent economic and legal advice?  

Those who have proven by their actions that they have no regard for
the trust they hold can not be expected to act differently in future;
if they can't take the heat we need get them out of the kitchen.
