At last nights Council Meeting the tax appeals were mentioned during the Work Session. The only thing I caught was that there would be no refund of taxes.
So, if we are done beating the Palace issue let's beat the Tax Appeal issue. It was commented in a prior post that there have been no new ratables created by the redevelopment. Not entirely accurate. There have been no new ratables created that can be attributed to the work of Asbury Partners or their sub-developers. All the buildings east of Ocean Ave are now ratables, new to the tax rolls but not NEW buildings. That is a direct result of the City selling Public Assets. The question that should come to mind is - Are the assesments appropriate? Too low, Too high ? For example, ConHall comes in at about $4.5 Million, the southern most Pavilion comes in at about $1 Million. Discussion? Werner ------------------------ Yahoo!
