Oak,
For one, I am certified RETIRED! No, it's NEVER too late to improve
oneself, educationally. It's how I got ahead, received promotions on
time, etc. It wasn't easy, but I did it and have earned the right to
sit the hell, down! Instead of opening a business, which I contemplated, I
decided to travel, enjoy my grandkids and be involved
in helping Veterans. I've done the "mommy" thing, tutored my kids and half of
the neighborhood. I've seen more anniversaries than
many here have lived. I don't look my age and I don't act my age
either. I didn't burn my bra or my draft card, but I did my share
of protesting. I'm still married and enjoy his company. The burning
question of the day at my house is, "what's for dinner"?

I'm not perfect yet, but I work on it. I'm too tired to raise hell
but I enjoy reading what the rest of you do because I did, too. I
thank my lucky stars that I was able to retire and it upsets me that
this generation has less to look forward to when I was your age.

How did we let this country slip through our fingers? We've had 10
years of 9-11, "if you see something, say something" turns us into
a version of "Hitler's youths", that ratted out parents and friends.
If I knew a terrorist was in my midst, I wouldn't be afraid to report him/her.
Our bodies are scanned and shoes removed and our bags are
opened. The state of the TSA's at the airport have thieves helping themselves
to your things, too.

How come there's an outlet in Alabama where you can buy lost baggage,
clothes and expensive items that the airlines lost? This country
gas been turned upside down where we use European jargon like
"Homeland"? I thought we fought for independence to get away
from the UK and Europe, else why have a statue of Liberty?

Why are corporations, "people"? If Bush 2 bailed the banks out
why won't they help us keep our homes? We're "too big to fail"!
Im with the Occupy movement. The fiasco in Las Vegas tells me
that President Obama would beat the hell out of any Republican and
their evil, far right ways. Let them keep withholding funds from
the Irene cleanup and trying to breakup this country. If they get in,
I'll be "the help"!
