What's up Asbury Park?????
My play BROKE WIDE OPEN was developed down there, a good portion of the story
takes place down there and the people of that magical town are well represented
in my 500 NAMES campaign to help fully mount the production off Broadway this
October at The 45th Street Theatre in Manhattan. One of your amazing artists,
jason Sisino is part of the team, he is creating a beautiful work of art for my
set, a painting that will be 2 stories high, and the director of my project,
one of your former artistic directors of The Revision Theatre, Stephen Bishop
Seely. 500 NAMES is an international fundraising campaign, an emerging
community that has drawn people from all over the world, already 256 STRONG in
about 9 weeks, we are rising but we have a long way to go, and it would be
amazing to have more support from the town where I actually did the first
performance of my show, at The Stephen Crane House, back in 2007. I did a few
performances at The Showroom, you probably saw me rehearsing on The Boardwalk,
at the beach, walking the streets of Asbury, perhaps hanging out with Clark and
Ana at The twisted Tree, the project was born in my beloved New York City, my
story took me to Asbury and now I am back home in NY, but I will never forget
my time down there, a few of the most amazing and mystical years of my life,
and you can be a part of the continued evolution of BROKE WIDE OPEN. It's not
about how much you would contribute, but more a gesture of support saying you
believe in me, my journey and BROKE WIDE OPEN, and so, take a moment to follow
the link I am about to provide, and read around and see how it feels to you,
and perhaps you will consider doing what you can. It would be an honor to have
you on this list, forever connected to me and my journey. Hope this finds
everyone well, living and loving in that amazing place, the city by the sea.
Thanks for listening, here's the link...
