Hello again,
I was going through the previous year's work done in FPROPS by Ankit Mittal
and I have some points to discuss.
I have been able to gather that the work involves adding support for more
components and mixtures and, on a later stage may be,
preparation of an update-able database. Also, I think that there are
currently only a few property calculations(as compared to REFPROP) supported
and can be extended. I haven't actually used REFPROP but had a slight look
at the NIST website, and probably you people could provide more insight to
that and the amount of work/study required for their implementation.
Ankit had also proposed addition of Peng-Robinson EOS, and he indeed had put
up a sample code on the wiki page of
PR_EOS_in_FPROPS<http://ascendwiki.cheme.cmu.edu/PengRobinson_EOS_in_FPROPS>.
But I'm not aware if he integrated that into ASCEND or not. I myself had
done some VLE calculations
using PR EOS earlier using MATLAB and maybe able to help in that. I tried to
contact him through email
to get updates on his work, but I haven't received any reply from him yet.
Cheers,
Siddharth
