Hi Rahul Thanks very much for your interest in our project. You seem to have a good background for participation in our project, and I would urge you to get involved regardless of the GSOC outcomes.
Regarding your questions, > > 1) As some model have already been created , so do I have to expand > the model libraries of components of solar power plant by focusing on > certain aspect or create a model/templates to design power plants. Currently we have only very limited models for solar absorbers of the various kinds. The obvious first one to start with is a parabolic trough receiver. A good description of a complete system model implementation can be gleaned from Angie Patnode's thesis, see here: https://www.nrel.gov/analysis/sam/pdfs/thesis_patnode06.pdf > > 2) Does in this project a specific solar plant is targeted or aim is > for for general model to even incorporate the hybrid-solar power > plants etc. By developing reusable components, we would hope to make those future modelling tasks possible, and easier to implement using parts that have already been built and tested. > 3) Do I still have chances to get accepted even approaching so late ? > {Because of intense anxiety, I was not able to resist to ask}. The more you can do between now and the deadline to demonstrate your ability, the stronger your application will be. > 4) I would also like to know how much is expected for this project and > are there any specific that I should know regarding this project or > Ascend. Full-time work for the duration of GSOC is expected. And you are expected to make goals and agree them with your mentor (probably me in this case) and then to meet those goals as far as is reasonable. I would expect a full steady-state system model for a parabolic trough system to be easily achievable within the available time, and possibly dynamic modelling also attempted to some agreed extent.
