Ignoring what I think about excel, there are several logistical problems here. Excel presumably outputs a full html document, so you would have to extract the table part from the document boilerplate to embed it in another html document (whether asciidoc generated or not). Then you would need to get the css that excel uses to format the table and merge it into the css that formats the rest of the document. This is likely to be complex to automate and tedious to do manually each time you change the table.
