However, I still cannot make it work. With the changes you suggested, the comment blocks are still not visible. See asciidoc-odf odt.conf and examples/test-odt.txt. Only the inline comment is being outputted.

No longer relevant. After looking at your xhtml11 example and applying that to what I was doing, it magically worked ! :)
