Alas, the whole point of the section where I use the clef is to show how to 
deal with exotic UTF-16 characters that don't fit into 16 bits. I could of 
course hunt for  another one that is more widely supported. FWIW, every one 
of the first 65,536 Unicode characters that I've used in my text shows up 
nicely. Its the really exotic ones that don't.
