The --line-range is an argument to the source-highlight highlighter used for HTML output. But for docbook, the highlighting is done by the docbook toolchains, source-highlight is not used and so the --line-range is an error. > > Is there a correct way to make this line-range work for FOP too ? Not that I'm aware of, the docbook-xsl stylesheets don't seem to have a way of only outputting part of the contents of the programlisting element. Other people who wanted to do that have only included a subrange of the file. That will of course then work on all backends.
