At the moment I use FusionInvoice (https://www.fusioninvoice.com/) and I
like that previous release has brought compatibility with SQLite, so now
I was able to get rid of my MySQL for which I do not have any need.

That's interesting...especially docbook --> latex, here I assume you
mean using dblatex?

In the past I used LyX/LaTeX for quality typesetting, but now I believe
I could simply use Asciidoc --> PDF when then desired quality does not
have to be top-notch and use your toolchain when I want to do fine
tuning of latex file.
