I love critical feedback! It's probably best if we discuss your suggestion in an issue so we can make them actionable. We can probably cover it in a single issue to start, something like "Improve default stylesheet" or "Make default stylesheet more accessible". Of course, it's impossible to please everyone with a single style. Some people love huge text, some people love small text. (just like there's no universal answer to "which is better, vanilla or chocolate?"). What we want to provide is a solid default, something that rewards the writer right out of the gate. Naturally, I expect users to customize the style to their liking and/or to fit their branding. And I encourage them to do so. > > Titles in Red? The reason I say that is because I originally got the idea from A List Apart (see http://alistapart.com/article/frameworks), who apparently did a bunch of research on this and determined that was an accessible color. I cannot validate that conclusion myself. However, I did do some quick tests with color blindness tools and those with protanopia (red blind) supposedly see the headings as medium gray. > And the Titles are too big. We are working on a "compact" theme that addresses this issue as well as the large spacings (see https://github.com/asciidoctor/asciidoctor-stylesheet-factory/pull/11). The reason for the large headings and spacings is to optimize for readability and mobile. All the studies I've read have concluded that the best readability is achieved with larger font sizes and spacings, in the neighborhood of what we have. But I can't claim to be an expert on the subject. Regardless, it's reasonable to have two options (normal and compact), so I think we should continue to pursue that idea. > > Literal quotes in a box with a background? That's why the stylesheet can be changed ;) But let's discuss at https://github.com/asciidoctor/asciidoctor/issues. -Dan -- Dan Allen | @mojavelinux | http://google.com/profiles/dan.j.allen -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "asciidoc" group.
