Hi,

There has been discussion on the bug tracker on whether to add a warning or not when the user activates the "show hidden variables and function" menu, because using hidden features might physically destroy the robot.

One problem I see is that in the firmware update page [1], we ask users to enable hidden stuff to check the firmware version. As view settings are saved across sessions, it is likely that users will have hidden stuff visible once they have updated their firmware once.

I know that ideally the firmware updater should check such the version, but until someone has the time to implement this feature, shouldn't we remove this message and hope that users do not update 100x their robots with the same firmware? I find it a bad idea to lead users to enable the view of hidden stuff for a normal operation such as updating the firmware.

kind regards,

Stéphane
