Does anybody have any suggestions for a "good"
configuration?
I mean, an optimal configuration for people that
have a "standard" machine (eg, around PIII 500,
128-256MB ram etc).
I have 384MB, PIII 550, and am using the default
configuration, I have added about 300 servers to
the list of servers to index (in an external
servers.conf file) and have also set the maximum
number of hops to 1024.
I usually index with a plain sbin/index - does
anybody have any suggestions for a sensible
figure for sbin/index -N?
Also, I assume that increasing the available key
buffer to mySQL whilst indexing will not make
much difference - this is primarily to increase
search speed?
