It depends on how many sites do you index. Try various
numbers from -N10 to -N50 and figure out yourself
what is better.

If you want 5 to 10 million URLs to be indexed, you
should get more RAM I suppose.

Nope, it helps indexing too, set your key_buffer
to about 1/4 of available RAM.

Also, if you use linux and IDE disks, look into
hdparm command - it may boost your disk speed incredibly.
