The last is faster.

The first might be easier to implement.

Subject: [AspNetAnyQuestionIsOk] DataSet versus cmd.executereader

Which is faster, downloading the database into a dataset and letting
the user add/update/delete against the dataset, then when the user
is done, committing the changes to the database;
  - or -
going against the database with queries to keep the database in sync
with every change?

I ask because in Kalani's book he does the first, in Walther's book
he does the second.
