Hi,

I am little bit confused while comparing .Net Runtime and .Net Framework.
Can anybody tell me the exact difference between these two? Are they
synonyms for each other or are they have different meanings. Actually this
question comes in my mind because if I have to run .Net application on
development server then I need to just install .Net runtime. Then
application will run without any problem. Then why I need to install .Net
Framework. If I am wrong then please correct me. Does .Net Runtime able to
compile .cs file, for an example, and make assembly or is it required to
install .Net framework on the machine for compiling any file.
