Hey! Thanks for the comments! I totally understand where you're coming
from. I've been hit a lot with unsavory groups. Go ahead and check out the
organization and decide.

As far as your questions go, e-mail the questions to them. I'm sure they
would love to answer them.

As far as direct donations, a direct donation is much better than a
purchase. Don't just buy ink cartridges with the money you can donate. The
campaign is to redirect expenditures to a non-profit group that can take the
purchase as a donation amount. From there, they give 75% of the proceeds to
the organizations they mentioned. Again, give the supporting organizations
a call to see if they know about a Siam Rogers at an Access Jesus. The one
for the North American Mission Board is at http://www.namb.net/dr/ . I do
know that Joel Phillips has been in contact with them.

I too apologize for continuing to carry out this discussion. Again, I'm not
being asked by the ministry to do this. I've been in the listserv for
awhile (though not too active) and this is the first time I've ever done
something like this.

In the end, if you have money donate directly to FEMA, Red Cross, or
whoever. This is just a way for us to have part of our normal purchases go
to helping others.

Peace,
Chris

With all due respect to hurricane victims and their families, wouldn't it
be better to have people give directly to an appropriate organization, even
if the amount is considerably less than they would spend on a vendor? This
business of reaching their goal "if 1 million people (consumers) would
purchase their Ink and Paper supplies through AccessInk.org" sounds pretty
fishy to me. And what is "the suggested donation amount"?

Forgive me if I sound cynical, but when you'veas many spams and scams as
I have-- especially with the word "Jesus"slapped on them, which really
makes me mad --you tend tobe a bit less trusting of some random email from
"Reverend Siam Rogers" who wants you to buy his office supplies for the
greater good.

My apologies for continuing this off-topic thread...

I know that this doesn't fit with the guidelines of the group but I thought
that since this is for helping those in need that it would be ok for a one
time post. Plus, I've been a member here for a while and I'm not the type
to just do this kind of thing.

To be blunt, I'm sending this e-mail for a ministry I've been working with
that is trying to raise money for Hurricane Victims. I'm sending the below
Press Release to those that people that I know in a hopes that they will be
able to share it with others that might have an immediate need for ink.

Again, I apologize if this offends anyone. I just have a lot of friends and
family down there that are in serious need of help and very few people have
the discretionary funds to just donate.

Thanks,
Chris
