Some observations: **** Simple minded acceptance of propaganda in the name of news, like the "---ULFA workers were arrested by police" will leave one confounded all the time.
We know that time and again, the police, who does not have any track record of investigating anything sufficiently to be able to convict criminals, routinely go round up youth and tag them as ULFA. That from, by all accounts, one of the most corrupt of the governmental institutions. **** Application of the label 'terrorist' on every detainee by the corrupt police, and by and equally conniving and clueless media, is not only a crude and ignorant desecration of the English language, it also is reflection of the labeler's own prejudices and attempts at spin, of a lack of respect for truth and/or justice. It is a self serving assertion of one's own righteousness. I realize that many an Indian attempt/ed to get a free and shameless ride on the coat-tails of the US military campaigns ( typical desi-trait of course) against terrorism, by starting to call its own political dissidents 'terrorists', hoping, somehow, that the USA will come deliver them from the sins of their own making--in Kashmir, in Nagaland, in Assam, in the central provinces and so forth. But more could be expected from these netters. cm At 9:30 AM -0500 8/30/05, Dipankar Malla Baruah (Well Logging wrote: >A few ULFA workers were arrested by police in connection with the >recent bomb blast in Boko.
