If India were to be too fractured, it would have
broken up some time back. And it hasn't. So you do
need to take C'da's diatribes as bombast and not much
else :-)

C'Da poses the question why NE should be tied to such
a fractured India. Guess why people haven't exactly
gone ahead and created a different country:

a. Read Para 1: India does have a sense of nation.
b. The NE is not a nation. Assam is not a nation - as
a sovereign one - in a way all people of Assam feel.
It is a conglomeration of tribes and communities that
have divergent interests at many points.
Perhaps b. is the biggest failure of the separatists.
