If you dig into the Assamnet archives, you will find a letter I wrote where I talked about the killing fields in Assam if and when ULFA gets to control Assam. Forcing people to do something they do not want to, has never worked and will not work. The ideologues who believe in forced labor need to think again.
If working in the fields can be made more attractive and profitable than vegetating in the barracks, I am sure it will attract the young people. That requires a lot more planning and work than has been done. Coercion and force is not the solution.
