Dear BK:
This came from a Nagalim website.
It may be showing mainly Naga's point of view. But I did not see anything incorrect.
Yes, the name of Phizo is not there. May be this group is anti Phizo, I don't know.
Some omission may be due to my summary. However, form whichever angle we see it the story of Nagaland is a shame for India.
I also read the following in Sanjoy Hazarika's "Strangers in the Mist":
"Nari Rustomji who single handedly administered the North East , in 1950 describes the period of the crackdown as a 'dark and senseless ' part of India's history."
Please let us know briefly what do you think is the whole story.

Subject: Re: [Assam] Historical Background of Nagaland

Dear Barua Saheb

I wonder who is the author of this account. This does not appear to be the whole truth. As far as I know there were a few properly British administered districts except the Tuensang area, which was described as partially administered.

I also find it odd that there was no mention of late Mr A Z Phizo, the first revolutionary leader of the Naga Hills.

It is just a query. As I have no books or records of any kind, I cannot properly argue the matter with you.

Regards

Bhuban
