You are right B'ka.

But then we don't have/need Rolexes. Even  wearers never use time for appointments.

Locksmith-yes needed . One lane in Fancy Bazaar accomodates 10 such locksmiths . He carries his entire shop in a bag.

We are talking about 3 Crores.

2% Americans work on the land and feed half the world. 90% Assamese work on Their land and cannot feed themselves.

Dear Mike

Re: Watch-repairing. Modern watches (battery-run) also need repairers.Batteries have to be changed; straps fitted and so on.  In fact repair of watches like Rolex is a very high-skilled job, a skill which is not easily available and acquired. I had a chance to listen to a Scottish Rolex expert on the subject not long ago.

Then locksmithy. It is a huge industry. Nearly two decades ago I bought a house fitted with a sophisticated locking system. Only when I needed an extra key I came to know that I would not be able to get that extra key made in any  local shop. This happened also when I rented a council house for some time. In any case both in Spain and France, in fact in Europe locksmithy is a big industry. These keys also cost dear.

Regards
