• Proposed by Jagjivan Ram's(Harijan) daughter Meira Kumar who was IAS(QUOTA) . Taken out by Indira Gandhi to hopefully rake in votes for her party. Now she is  "socialjustice" minister-Central Cabinet.
  • IF a State ratifies  to pay 50,000/----- only then Delhi will pay 25,000/-.
  • Q-- Which State has that kind of money? Why will they? UP won't.So dead duck!
  • First marry-- then ask for Bonus? or Bonus first -then marry? For Convenience?

This won't work EVEN in India.

<Certainly it would be an incentive to many.
But what if after the money is spent, and the old stigmas and social
pressures, including ostracization, haunt the newlyweds and lead to
desertion if not divorce?

It is at best, a desperate attempt, but fraught with even worse
consequences than it hopes to eradicate.>

Wonder what the Bride Burning /Widow  missionary says !
