I think it was last year when the Ganpatis during the
Ganpati festival seemed to have come from China.
Indian manufacturing has a long way to go except for
niche areas such as small car manufacturing, machine
tools etc.

As to CPG products, the market is run by MNCs alright
- but the MNCs find themselves transformed. Companies
such as Unilever and P&G have Indian managers all
around the globe from the middle to the top.
