Ram-da,

I realize your feelings and the pain you feel. But to get justice there has
to be a concerted effort so I asked. One cannot sit and wait for things to
happen. Community members have to support.

I hope he (Grewal) is punished soon.

Thank you C'da for really understanding our feelings.

We understand Umesh means well, but Umesh, both of us still feel deeply hurt,
whenever Nitin's name crops up, it brings back lots of memories. In essence, it
is a sensitive subject for us. And we certainly, do not expect the same level
of sensitivity from everyone around. We hope you understand our feelings.

Over the past year or so, we have tried to show a brave front, participated
in Assamnet discussions etc, visited friends, but that should in no way be
construed to mean that, at least for us, Nitin's case can be treated like some
other case (far removed from us), and Nitin is 'past history' for both of us
and we can discuss him in a detatched way. I don't think we will ever reach
that sense of detatchment and nor do we want to. Nitin is a part of us.

I did not follow this thread carefully, but fail to see the connection. And
since you wanted to know, Hardeep S. Grewal of Houston has been indicted for
Nitin's murder by a Harris County Grand Jury, and is awaiting trial. That is
basically as much as we know about the case.

Also, whether, Grewal is convicted or not, sent to prison or not, we, as
parents, have already lost.

You ought to have exercised some discretion in bringing Nitin's case into
this discussion.

But then again, why am I surprised!

  http://www.expressindia.com/fullstory.php?newsid=78439 This Sharma
grandson of former Indian President -Shankar Dayal Sharma (I know his nephew)
seems to be trigger happy as do his friends. Member of Parliament DP Yadav's
son who goes to jail with Sharma --is one of the two brothers allegedly
involved in the murder of Nitish Katara who was dating their sister and had the
guts to dance with her at her birthday party(as per news reprots). Here is
Yadav's main role http://www.expressindia.com/fullstory.php?newsid=78473
Umesh PS: It seems to be true -- birds of a feather flock
