Ram-da and Alpana-ji,
I am sad that I made you sad.
Regards.

Thanks C'da for covering for us earlier.
I feel it would be an insult to Nitin to open a thread like this, even though
we have taken a brave front, like writing an eulogy, showing up at work after
two weeks etc., etc. We do it because Nitin wants us to do it - never bend
yourself unnecessarily in front of others.
Then again, FOR US it is NOT just another thing that happens in life that is
healed when time passes by - we have to get another life to get healed.
And BTW, that 'one year mourning period' rule that the society puts, is pure
BS. I decide when my mourning period is over.
Umesh-ji, I was thinking of letting you know about the new development, but
you never asked us. I know you have all the good intentions, but please, not
like this.

Thank you C'da for really understanding our feelings.
We understand Umesh means well, but Umesh, both of us still feel deeply hurt,
whenever Nitin's name crops up, it brings back lots of memories. In essence, it
is a sensitive subject for us. And we certainly, do not expect the same level
of sensitivity from everyone around. We hope you understand our feelings.
Over the past year or so, we have tried to show a brave front, participated
in Assamnet discussions etc, visited friends, but that should in no way be
construed to mean that, at least for us, Nitin's case can be treated like some
other case (far removed from us), and Nitin is 'past history' for both of us
and we can discuss him in a detatched way. I don't think we will ever reach
that sense of detatchment and nor do we want to. Nitin is a part of us.
I did not follow this thread carefully, but fail to see the connection. And
since you wanted to know, Hardeep S. Grewal of Houston has been indicted for
Nitin's murder by a Harris County Grand Jury, and is awaiting trial. That is
basically as much as we know about the case.
Also, whether, Grewal is convicted or not, sent to prison or not, we, as
parents, have already lost.

You ought to have exercised some discretion in bringing Nitin's case into
this discussion.
But then again, why am I surprised!

involved in the murder of Nitish Katara who was dating their sister and had the
