Dear HT: Your idea about the PIL to stop GOA from changing the name Assam to Asom is very good.
However Rajen's initiative and efforts to put together a signed petition with research materials that tell us since how long in time, the name Assam has been in use? Has the name Assam ever been corrupted at any point in time, is also commendable. I suggest that you see it as two different approaches. One that reasons with the GOA with research materials as to why the name should not be changed. The other is a PIL that will stay the official name change legally, and will use compiled documents such as what Rajen has put togeher. Mohan R.
