Subject:  [Assam] He acted in Maniratnam’s extremely cleverly used Assamese dialogue containing ‘Dil Se’ seems loosely based on ULFA’s Assam liberation struggle and Shahrukh possesses no knowledge of Assam and the subject matter of that film? Incredible!

New Delhi, Feb. 12 (PTI): Superstar Shahrukh Khan

may have swung to typical Bollywood songs umpteen times but he is equally at
home with Assam's most popular folk dance--Bihu--to mark the new harvest.

Khan's skills at Bihu came to fore when a

contestant from Assam at the television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati asked
him to shake a leg.

Shah obliged and enthusiastically did some Bihu

steps "for the first time".

"I just asked him if he would like to do a

few steps of our traditional dance and he readily agreed," said Mridul
Gogoi, a businessman who hails from Assam's Dibrugarh district.

"It was a great feeling. He said he danced

Bihu for the first time and I was impressed by its steps," Gogoi, who won
Rs 3.20 lakhs in the contest today, told PTI over phone.

Gogoi said the organisers told him the the actor

danced for the first time on the sets of the show.

"I was really impressed by Shah Rukh's

attitude. He was very curious to know about my place. When I said I was from
India's easternmost state, bordering Arunachal Pradesh, he wanted to know more
about the place.

"He told me that he had been to Arunachal but

not Assam."

Gogoi said the actor kept asking the show's main

researcher Siddharth Basu about details on Assam.
