"My people"!! My goodness!! Let's forget your people for a minute and take you as an individual. Didn't you mention in a recent post about the individual being the pillar of society or something like that?
The fact of the matter is you as an individual got a platform to spread your wings and fly. That platform came from the Indian government. Actually this is relevant to the arguments - in a sense you are an example of India's success.
