>The main idea of the story, as anybody with common sense will understand, is that people who are incapable of making it to higher ups, cribs and point fingers at those who have made it to higher ups .....and I do agree to this.

*** Okkkay! Let us begin here. Don't worry. I will give you your answer, IF, by some chance, it does not become apparent to you, fairly soon, from the exercises you will do, interactively. The length of the exercises , will be dependent on your ABILITY or WILLINGNESS to dig deeper, and in the process connect the dots that will emerge from the excavation.

For reference, we will call the above 'the main idea according to Krishendu' or MIAK for short.

BTW, if bystanders have other understandings of the piece's main idea/s, very different or even little but nuanced different, feel free to chime in. We will use them for reference .

( Here observers , who might not be familiar with the original Aesop's fable of the Ant and the Grasshopper -- ATGH for short---, might note that it was about working hard and SAVING for a RAINY DAY).

Now then, from MIAK above, those with any commonsense ought to know that the world is neatly divided into two camps: One of hardworking achievers, the ANTS and the other being of the lazy, parasitic , cribbing ( complaining) non-achievers.

Would that be a reasonable interpretation here? Feel free to correct me if I am reading you incorrectly. However, I like to think I am on target. And therefore we will proceed to the next exercise:

*** Therefore, from the litany of individuals and institutions named in this desi-version of the ATGH ( DATGH for short) , you should be able to point out who falls into which group.

Let us identify these two groups as the hardworking ants (HWA) and the lazy, cribbing lot
        LCL)

So, please assign the appropriate labels below. To make it easy I will give the
        following example:

        BBC,CNN, NDTV --- ( HWA ? or LCL? )
        Arundhati Roy ---- ?
        Medha Patkar ---- ?
        Amnesty International --- ?
        Kofi Annan ---- ?
        Opposition MPs ----?
        Governing party MPs ----?
        West Begal Govt. ----?
        Kerala Govt. ----?
        Lallu Prasad Yadav ---?
        POTAGA ---?
        Arjun Singh ---?

*** Also since you brought in the following Assamnetter personalities, what group
        would they belong to:

        Chandan Mahanta ----- ?
        Jugal Kalita -----?
        Krishendu Chakravarty-----?

Reasonable people might guess that there may not be many belonging to the HWA group mentioned in the DATGH.

And since you AGREE with the main idea embedded in this DATGH, but since the illustrious author of the piece did not give us any example, other than one who left to Silicon valley to set up that billlion dollar company, please provide us a few examples of who might fit the HWA group well.

I hope you will agree, that it is VERY IMPORTANT to have those examples. So :

        1: ----- ?
        2: ----- ?
        3: ----- ?
        4: ----- ?
        5: ----- ?

**** Assuming you don't abandon ship or run for the tall-grass at this point, we should be able to zero in on your answers with just one or two more exercises.

I am already excited!

I would not like to get into yet another lengthy
discussion. I will try to answer your questions but do
expect you will answer some of my questions too ---

The main idea of the story, as anybody with common
sense will understand, is that people who are
incapable of making it to higher ups, cribs and point
fingers at those who have made it to higher ups .....
and I do agree to this.

However, the reason of posting my questions for you
is NOT limited to this story.

You have frequently tried to point out that Indian
education system is dysfunctional. In many of your
postings you have portraied that all who goes to
IIT/IIM or get H1 or get a decent job, have an
affluent parent who earned money through illegel (or
unethical) means.

I know that many of the netters including you, Jugalda
who are very established in their own field have a
background which is more aligned to BK's third son.
Though my background is not that bad, it is pretty
close.

I would be interested to know HOW you made it to IIT
and later to USA? How come the dysfunctional Indian education not stop
you from achiving this?
Why do you think Indian Education system is
dysfunctional?
In US, majority of students making it to top rank
Schools are from Private School. Does the US education
system also flawed so as not to allow BK's third son
to make it to top ?

Thanks

 OK, here we go.

There will be no need to do resort to any twisting,
 spinning,
proffering of feeble or disingenuous alibis or
 other such evasive or
 diversionary tactics.

We will do it real slow. I will ask the questions to
 help you find
 the answer yourself.

No interruption from bystanders please. Hold your
 applause until K
gets the answer he is seeking. I will be pleased to
 point it out for
those who might have difficulty recognizing it when
 arrived at.

*** What is the main idea/s, the objective/s, of
 that piece
ANT & GRASS HOPPER, as you
        understand it/them?

*** Do you agree with them ? If not why?

Let us begin with the answer to these . Then we will
 move on to the
next step/s, until we arrive at the sought after
 answer/s, OK?
