Thanks for your mail.I just wanted to know if you too is from Byaspara -- of
Atul Sarma da's locality???Your writings say so.
I am thankful to meet you and our MM-who did visited my native home in
2005.Its a golen opportunity to meet u both and thus getting some moment to
talk about our homeland that runs with thousands of turmoil.
As I was with the services for 20 yrs, I did saw all.But all the blame
different ways.In the case of Assam, like our MM says.. its thousand
problem.True.Still in the issue of humanity- I need to blame the media too.The
Gujarat issue live coverage spoiled the nation.Lot many places due to BJP, lot
of people got changed, same way in Punjab.But these was small time issue for
particular matter.
To say in Assam, its like anyone can be dunmped and be given a good status.WE
the Koch Rajbongshis was given ST staus long ago in 2002 vide Presidential
ordinance.But due to our MPs poor negligence, that was later withdrawn.NBone
took up the issue as all the politician forget their Assam and its people the
moment they do go to Delhi.All migrate to Delhi and get settled in Noida
peacefully with MPLAD fund.
Last night I saw parliament issue raised by Shivraj Patil- urguing giving ST
status to "Adibasi:(??) Why we are not Adibasi is a dictionary mistake hope.WE
all who lives for centuries are also adibasi.These tea worker are migrant
labourers from Jharkhand(Bihar,Chotanagpur plateau,AP-Telengana & Orissa).How
they can be original inhabitant of Assam??WE entire Assamese never got migrated
to all the states like them.What we are is working with good jobs or profession
to limited cities only(Bangalore,Pune,Mumbai,Chennai,Hyderabad ).Not growing
like these and keep demanding lot of status.I am afraid if Govt now try to
give them hurriedly ST status.All because the Delhi and Jharkhand/Bihar might
pressure Govt to do so.....Assam remains a paradise to dumpers.And these duped
elements one fine day asks for lot.Their own medium schools like we got
Nepali,Bihari,Bengalee etc... etc....and the Bangladeshi schools...
This alarming situation of Assam need be taken up with all the top level
journalists residing at Delhi etc.A together voice will help.
Coming to American people issue as told by MM, they are clever to be
accepted.One of my known american also told me, all the americans are by birth
known to be not trusting to anyone other than an american!! Nice nah..So now
they do dominate the world.
But we Assamese need more time and change over as we do run in more hurdles
in every steps from different angles....
AS our MM did visited for some projects and taken up lot with Govt and public
in Assam, hope we can talk and try to educate people there...
Even I am also willing to go and try out at my areas.

If you were a Gujarati at the time of Gujarat riots in 2002 -- you would blame
the Indian media for bias - blaming majority (Hindus) for attacks against
minorities. If you were a Punjabi in late 1980s and early 1990s again you
would blame the Indian media for highlighting atrocities committed against the
minorities (Hindus in this case) while highlighting incidents committed by
minorities.
In this case -- It is true (prima facie) that there were some cruel, cunning ,
politically motivated guys among the leaders of these Adivasi procession
leaders - who created a violent situation - created the violent situation - by
assaulting a woman and her child --and then disapppearing to let the fight take
place between innocents. Isn't that how most riots have taken place in India so
far.
Why blame the media alone? Have some spine and develop thick skin. Americans
have a thick skin and live with head held high despite allegations flying
against the world's only super power.
