Dear Friends,
Please post some more light of Parijat Academy . This seems to be a very good effort. Bobby Gautam, Jorhat. On Fri, 18 Mar 2011 23:19:12 +0530 wrote >Buljit, You are right (on the Academy part). We should have a Parijat Academy blooming in every corner of Assam/North East. The problem with the NRA community (AFNA/FASS) is that we are short on ground level workers and not really being able to create the bridge back to Assam. Parijat Academy deserve all the focus it receives but at the same time its unfortunate that the NRA community can't find another project of the same scale, vision and executive efficiency where they can put their resources on. AFNA is working with few other organizations in Assam (most notably, Atma Nirbhar, Pragyalaya and Rickshaw Bank) but we need more. Ram da & Alpana Baideu is innovating the way NRAs can extend help through building libraries, providing shoes and now initiating book banks for the blind students. If we can identify more academies in Assam, AFNA would be more than eager to help. Let us continue this drive! Friends is an effort by the non-residents spread all over the globe and I am sharing your email below with the group. I would like add that Wahid saleh has compiled a list of achievers and success stories of non-residents of Assam and it was presented during the Prabasi Bharatiya Divas organized by Govt of India. Along with the appreciation you also have set the bar high for us! While I revere every word of you including your reference to the internationally renowned writer with Friends ,I would like point out that ours is a modest effort. We are a group of mostly amateur writers or scribblers. Majority of us are from technical background with little or no expertise for a high quality journal. At the same time, I must say that your words have rekindled the quintessential value ,the need to recognize our ability and tap what is inside us. Often, greatness is just one inch away, but fear and lack of confidence in ourselves render us powerless. With great expectations comes the opportunity to realize them. By desiring more, we create the capacity to receive it. I wish that our writers and contributors will raise the bar, put a little extra effort and lift to heights we can barely imagine. It is indeed a commendable effort from members of FASS from USA. please accept my greetings. your friend has also done a commendable work in promoting Parijat Academy. greetings to him as well. you have done very well by introducing great Achiever like Dr. Pradip jain, Dr. Saleh and many other. this would empower younger people of Northeast and also the young kids of Northeastern origin now residing in America. You are aware that though a few people of Northeast origin have done well in Business and teaching profession till now non have been recommended fro Nobel prize. There is no scientist worth the name. Try to find out if anyone is doing well and write about them. There are a few Economists who are highly rated but I do not know of any North easterner who has done well in as a scientist, Business persons even as Doctor of international reputation. You are in a better position to research and find out such persons and let northeast know about them. Include the news of young achievers. Try to find out which are the students who has received USPresidnt's award for studies. Which are the young kids studying in Harvard, or in Standford or in Kellogg or in MIT. Nobody in Assam knew that Ranjan was studying in MIT without spending any money of his father, purely on scholarship. Do you have an internationally known writer like Jumpa Lahiri. I understand there are a few Journalist who have done well in Washington Post etc.. Write about them. Please accept my greetings for excellent magazine edited by you and by your wife. regards GPB Gautam Prasad Baroowah WebSite: http://gpbaroowah.esmartweb.com/ My Blog: http://gpbaroowah.blogspot.com __._,_.___ Your email settings: Individual Email|Traditional Change settings via the Web (Yahoo!
