Innovator adds four new machines to inventory Correspondent NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Oct 8 – Invention wizard Uddhab Bharali added four new machines to his list of inventions with the launch of machines which will weave, slice bamboos and bake bricks at low cost and low energy. The national award-winning innovator and Certificate of Merit holder displayed and demonstrated his new creations before media persons at his workshop-cum-training institute here recently. The first one of Bharali’s latest inventions is a concrete brick-making machine which can make 480 bricks within 98 hours and it will cost Rs 50, 000. This new machine will save time and power as it runs on normal electric power. The cost of each concrete brick manufactured by this machine will only be Rs 3.75. For rural entrepreneurs, it will be a great opportunity as getting a bank loan up to Rs 50,000 is not a problem. Talking to the reporters, Bharali said that he had developed the machines by considering all economic status of local unemployed youths. His second invention is the multi-purl weaver machine where three to five coils of purl can be loaded while weaving clothes. This machine will bring relief to thousands of local artisans and weavers who painstakingly perform the purl weaving task. Bharali said that the machine would cost only Rs 2,000 in the market. His third machine is a bamboo-slicing device where bamboo pieces can be sliced thinly for making broomsticks. Bharali’s fourth invention is a leaf-cutter with which any leaves, edible or medicinal, can be cut into tiny pieces within minutes. The innovator informed the media about the launch of the mini version of his highly successful pomegranate peeler machine by the super mall, Big Bazaar recently all over India. His root peeling machine made in 2006 has been in great demand globally which brought him the President’s Award in 2007. His UKB Research Institute in North Lakhimpur is the only research and design institute of machines in India. (The Assam Tribune , 09.10.2011)
