9 from State clears UPSC examination

 NEW DELHI, May 3 – Nine candidates from Assam have cleared the coveted UPSC 
examination, results of which were announced today.A total of 998 candidates 
have been recommended for appointment
 to Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police
 Service and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’. The written examination 
was conducted in October 2012 and the Personality Test was held in March-April 
2013. The result of 92 candidates is provisional and that of three candidates 
is withheld by UPSC.According to the list of successful candidates,
 Umme Fardina Adil secured 319th position, while Satyakam Dutta was 
ranked 337. Others included Sashank Ojha (353), Ibu Sanjeev Garg (583), 
Christina Borgohain (615), Bipasa Das (636), Himanga Phukan (691), 
Ngikya Gohain (719) and Amrit Pritam Chetia (786).
