Global Bihu 2013 A general guideline of performances by participants
Global Bihu 2013 fifth edition, has been scheduled on 12th May 2013, Sunday 6 PM IST onwards. It has been expected that a minimum of 10 participating locations both national and international shall meet across the Internet for LIVE Bihu performances in a single platform. Detail technical issues have been posted on http://www.vedanti.com and the promoters are the Global Bihu unit of vedantiNET, the Network Service Provider of Guwahati. (http://www.vedanti.net) The standard of performances by all locations must meet a certain minimum rank fine enough for exposure to general public and electronic media including the Internet and the same should be guaranteed and monitored by the unit/ organization or individual in the lead role who would additionally bear the responsibility for the performances. Duration of performance for every participating location shall not go beyond 30 minutes. Confirmation of participation may be emailed to [email protected] , [email protected] by 11th May 2013 so that the scheduling can be set accordingly. The confirmation should contain the agenda of participation, approximate duration of performance and names of the participants along with details of the promoters. Ideally the following agenda would be comfortable: (a) Introduction by a member of the location about the participants, location and a short history of activities. (b) A bihu recital in any form (Song, Husori, Group or otherwise), (c) An individual or group number (d) A concluding speech or dance. Since the programs shall be staged LIVE, no recorded performance shall be made. The background of the location and the dresses of participants must have the look and feel of an Assamese. Ideally the backdrop should indicate the name of the location and/or the organization instituting the program. In the technical front, not more than one camera may be used, which should be kept upright in a stand (not in the palm or otherwise) to avoid jerks and projected from front at the average height level of the performers in the same plane. There should not be any lateral motion, panning and zooming. The audio should be ideally fed into the camera audio jack from an external audio system to avoid environmental noise. Please remember, that the audio/video feed gets amplified in the auditorium / open space in Guwahati and may affect the feed given to the web and TV. The video/audio has to be fed either using our web conferencing module provided in vedanti.com or Skype in a pre-assigned room being conveyed earlier. We may however make an exclusive room for this event and this shall be notified before time. The final video however shall be visible only at vedanti.comGlobal Bihu Live page. In case of confusions, kindly contact Dr. Sanjib Barthakur (9854053351 India) Kindly avoid performing at individual homes/ apartments and if considered unavoidable, kindly institute an envelope so that the performance becomes official. Ensure, that no peeping from behind, noise and other activities not associated with the performance is staged, in other words, the formal decorum is maintained at all levels.
