I feel it's a great idea to get all Pravasi Asomiyas together on a platform and use their expertise for a better Assam. The mail describes them as "Indian community of Assam origin from all over the world". Utpal Borpujari New Delhi 110096 The mail: It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that as desired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Assam , the Government of Assam in Industries & Commerce Department is proposing to hold a Pravasi Asomiya Divas- a convention with the Overseas Indian Community of Assam Origin in early 2017 at Guwahati, Assam, India. This would be the first edition of the Pravasi Asomiya Divas envisaged in the line of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas conducted annually by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The event is being arranged to project the State’s various policies on investment, new initiatives, schemes, programmes and opportunities.In this connection, we are in the process of documentation of database of Indian community of Assam origin from all over the world. I would, therefore, like to request your good office kindly to provide us with the information as per enclosed format on the Indian community of Assam origin residing in your country at the following email id: [email protected]. An early response on the matter would be highly appreciated. It would be great help if you could send us this details on or before 15th November as our honorable Chief Minister Sir is keen to get this details as soon as possible and he has given us this timeline.
