The World Water Dayis observed  on 22 March every yearunder the aegis of
United Nations. Today, there are millions of people livingwithout  safe water
supply close to home who often have to spend countlesshours queuing or walking
to distant sources. Let’s make a conscious effort topreserve this precious
commodity. You can surely make a big difference by judiciouslyavoiding water
intensive produce and bring more consciousness in people around. Some of the
World Water Day Pledge as I found in the net can be

·      I will use less water while I am bathing

·      I  willnot take more than 5 minutes to bathe

·      I will not use alot of water so that people whodon't have fresh water
can have fresh water

·       Reuse the water used to wash clothes to flush thetoil

·      I will use a mug while brushing my teeth.

·      When brushing your teeth dont leave the watertap open

Also as appealed  below, you may send an image of your pledge to RajPhukan

Thanks

Ankur

Dear Rituraj:
Thanks for the nice write-up. We discussed this subject matter at the recent
AFNA BoD meeting. Ankur Bora should be in touch with you for any further
assistance. We also think Water4All and Tree4All are complementary to each
other.
As another example of ideas, I am very much involved with the development of
commercial project with a few associates, where we collect rain water, further
purify it via reverse osmosis, and then make an aqueous cream with herbal oils
by emulsification. It is sold in West Bengal as of December-2016 for treating
Rheumatoid Arthritis, and hopefully we can start selling it in Assam and other
states from April-2017. As it is for joint pain relief of the elderly, we call
it HerboJointTM. It is made at Guwahati, and marketed by BBIPL, New Delhi
(Bordoloi Biotech India Pvt Ltd.)
All the best for your kind efforts.

Dear all,I am thankful to AFNA for supporting this initiative and for
deciding to promote the Water Pledge in the upcoming newsletter. Assam has been
an early impacted region from climate change and water- either too much of it
or too less- has been a concern as precipitation patterns change in a warming
world. The Forest Man of India, Padmashri Jadav Payeng, is a Patron for Walk
For Water. I look forward to your support in this campaign for universal safe
water access. Introduction
Walk For Water  is a civil society group comprising of passionate people
committed to the cause of universal safe water access. Aware that nearly
half of all supplied water in developing countries is lost due to leakage,
we are focused on increasing awareness and minimizing wastage, rainwater
harvesting, water treatment and recycling. Walk For Water has tied-up with
several regional, national and international organizations to create awareness
about the water crisis, climate change impacts and available solutions. The
mission of this campaign to ensure that the 22nd of March, World Water Day
evolves into a day of action on the global environment calendar.

The involvement of the future generations is primary to our mission and we
have tied-up with the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth
Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India to offer certificates to student
participants for the opportunity to learn about the global water crisis,
local interventions and meaningful community service.  This campaign led
by the empowered youth will not only create awareness, but also start to
improve lives immediately. Background Note
On World Water Day 2016, Walk For Water had created an Indian World Record
by organizing “The Biggest Walkathon” in over 10000 places in India and
a record breaking ‘Human Chain’ connecting 1.2 million people in 1132
Walk For Water events that extended to over 302 kilometres in Hyderabad
city.  Additionally, over 1.8 million people in 11963 locations spread
around 42 countries took the “Water Pledge”, with participants in all the
7 continents, including Antarctica. Inspired by such overwhelming
response, and the assured participation of over 225000 youth clubs
registered with the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, various central and
state government departments, panchayat bodies, municipalities, thousands
of engineering, management, medical institutions, universities, schools,
celebrities, self-help groups, youth clubs and community groups, we
intend to create a bigger global impact on 22 March 2017, taking water
conservation awareness to at least 5 percent of the world population and
25 percent of the Indian population through the multimedia water
conservation campaign. We believe in practicing what we preach and till
date our efforts have led to the restoration of 16800 dried-up borewells,
installation of over 27000 roof-top rainwater harvesting structures and
saved over 1233.4 million litres of water. (https://www.walkforwater.in/
blue-revolution-club/ ). We have also started the world’s first mobile
ready television channel dedicated to water and will be looking to
source content portraying the water crisis, climate change impacts on
water security and adaptations by communities in different countries from
our partner organizations. We believe we can inspire creative
interventions from the student community and help create a new
generation of social entrepreneurs. I welcome you to join us in this
campaign for universal safe water access and colloborate on providing
solutions to the local issue of global climate change for affected communities
around the world. We are also eager to forge a relationship with
organizations across various sectors to make a dramatic impact on solving
the water crisis that has engulfed vast parts of our planet.  Walking For
Water and Walk For Water can together create a global "Blue Revolution" and I
really look forward to your ideas and collaborative support. We are promoting
images of the attached Water Pledge with all stakeholders including farmers,
laborers, health and sanitation workers, students, teachers, scientists,
politicians, bureaucrats, sports stars, celebrities and others from all around
the globe to create a buzz on social media. Our partner organizations have
helped take the Water Pledge to millions of students in India already. Please
send in your photos holding printouts or large screen downloads of the Water
Pledge from your part of the world as a support to the campaign and to inspire
others. Another mode of support is to send one minute video messages on the
local issue of water in your country. Send your support images and clips to
