If you were to have another look at your credit card bill, or if
you have ever bothered to have a proper look at it, you will
realise that your transactions are locked onto the exchange rates
at the closing of the forex markerts on the day as it is posted
onto your account and NOT when you receive your bill 1 month
later. Thus, your argument of escaping the fluctuation of the
yen falls flat.

I do not have anything against Indians, nor do I have anything
against anything indian. But, statistics have shown that the
Indian area in singapore accounts for dubious transactions and
incidents highly disproportionate to its size and population as
well as if you have been to that area of the town, it is possibly
also the dirtiest part of singapore.

Well, I am a staunch advocate of all things electronic or
paperless. For example, my single largest criteria in evaluating
a bank to bank with is how good their internet banking is. So,
if I do find a shop (and I have done this a number of times)
who is offering a discount if you pay in cash, which tantamounts
to penalising someone who is willing to take the electronic
route, I would call up the creditcard company (and most card
companies have hotlines to report these) with whom they have a
merchant account and notify them about it and there have been a
number of cases in Singapore where their merchant accounts were
suspended as a result of customers reporting such incidents.
Most credit card companies require it in the contract that you do
not penalise the customer if he wants to use the card. Of
course, I have never come across any reputable firms who would
ever give you a discount or charge you extra if you were to pay
by cards. At the same time, I am skeptical about shops who do
not accept electronic means. To me, either they are upto
something sinister or they have not graduated themselves to the
ways of the times.
By the way, you may want to look up in the dictionary the
difference between the words "bye" and "buy".
