The Bodos have been using the letter "w" for a while writing in English to express certain phonetic sounds that do not seem to have any similar sound in Assamese. These are mostly phonetic wng (Nwng - You) or wo (not similar to Assamese wo, I don't know how to write it phonetically)
For example
English Bodo
What are you doing Nwng ma khalamdwng ? (No-ong Ma Kha-Lam-Do-Ong)
What is your name Nwng ni nama ma ? (No-ong Ni Naa-Maa Ma)
You are welcome Gwjwnthwng (Gwo-jwon-Thwang)
A few examples of Bodo names with "w"

Chandan:
That is very encouraging news it seems. No I have not seen Sentinel.
Anyway the use of W as Assamese WO-Kar has the approval of none other than
Dr Golok Ch Goswami, the present Guru of Assamese language (you may say) in
a letter to me couple of years ago.
I am glad that Sentinel is also using this. Can you send me an exanple of
such word without me going to Sentinel website.
Thanks
Rajen
